March 27, 2018: The Opium Smokers Dream

Welcome to another installment of Seeds & Sand, a daily haiku prompt.  I’m glad you’re here!

Today’s inspiration comes from this unusual artwork from Lajos Gulacsy.

The Opium Smokers Dream 1918 by Lajos Gulacsy

There’s a lot going on in the painting … what does it say to you?

Let your muses run wild with this one.

I like the bubbles blown over the ocean.  For some reason they make me think of dandelions.

from nowhere!
a dandelion puff
meets the sea

It’s good to let your haiku become a bit surreal from time to time.  When you’ve got writer’s block you can always run to WikiArt for inspiration.

Share your Opium Tea inspired haiku here.   Good luck and happy writing!
